Here's a little background to understand how this came to be.
When I was twelve years old, my father dragged me to a sales seminar his company had signed him up for. Giving up a Saturday in the summer was probably the last thing I wanted to do. It was one of those seminars that had multiple speakers and it was going to take all day, ugh.
I don’t remember all the speakers, although two stood out in my young mind. One was a memory expert, and he was good. The room had hundreds of people in it, and he could remember at least twenty names of people he had met just that day and he knew details about their lives. He then demonstrated his knowledge by taking a 10 x 10 grid and asking the audience to shout out numbers which he placed on the grid. At the end of this demonstration, he added each row and each column separately, and they all added up to the same number! I thought this was incredible and I sat a little straighter in my seat.
The speaker that really caught my attention though was someone I had never heard of before. His name was Zig Ziglar and he captivated me. He was talking about what type of person I wanted to be, how I was going to be specifically meaningful and not a wandering generality. It felt to this twelve-year-old boy that he was speaking directly to me and not the room of hundreds of people. After seeing Zig speak that day, I read his book “See You at the Top” and I also read his other books. From there, I expanded into reading other books about self-improvement and about how to achieve everything you wanted to be in life. I learned to set goals and about how to take steps to achieve those goals. In my adult life I was offered a chance to become a Ziglar Legacy Certified Speaker and Trainer and was thrilled to be able to once again connect with the person that I believe helped me succeed in my early years and career. I’ve since added the Ziglar Coaching certificate to my resume. It is with this education and the added classes of Ninja Selling by Larry Kendall, Todd Duncan’s High Trust Academy, Jack Canfield’s Breakthrough to Success, and a desire to continue to learn from all of the best teachers there are in the world, I can help you to cross the Rubicon and realize your potential.
